North Sea Jazz Curaçao 2026: Travel Tip!
North Sea Jazz Festival Curaçao runs September 3 through 5, 2026, at World Trade Center Piscadera Bay. Big names, three days, thousands of people flying in just for this. Here's what to do with the rest of your time on the island while you're here.
You're Flying In for North Sea Jazz. Here's What Else to Do on the Island.
North Sea Jazz Festival Curaçao is back September 3 through 5, 2026, at World Trade Center Piscadera Bay. Three days, one of the biggest lineups the Caribbean sees all year, and a few thousand people landing on this island who might never have booked a flight to Curaçao otherwise.
If that's you, here's the thing. You didn't just book a festival. You booked a whole island, and most people who fly in for North Sea Jazz never leave the resort strip or the festival grounds long enough to see it.
That's a waste. Willemstad is a fifteen minute drive from Piscadera Bay and it's one of the most colorful, walkable, genuinely interesting old towns in the Caribbean. UNESCO World Heritage site. Dutch colonial buildings painted in every color you can think of. A floating market. Street art you won't find on a resort postcard. All must sees!

Who's Playing
The 2026 lineup is stacked. Gente de Zona, Rubén Blades, J Balvin, Sean Paul, Toto, Jon Batiste, The Jacksons, Kassav', the Al Di Meola Ensemble, and a Coltrane tribute set from Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves are all on the bill across the three days. There's also a pre-show event called AFRO 23 happening at Kura Hulanda Village, which happens to sit right in the middle of Otrobanda, one of our own tour routes. More on that below.
Before or After Your Show, Come See Willemstad
You're going to have downtime. A free morning before the gates open, an afternoon after a late show, maybe a whole extra day tacked onto the trip. Instead of sitting by the pool, spend two hours seeing the island by e-scooter.
**Otrobanda Historic & Arts Tour** takes you through the mural district, the artist alleys, and the historic streets of Kura Hulanda, the same neighborhood hosting AFRO 23. If you're already going to be there for the pre-show, come back in daylight and actually see the streets around it.
**Punda Historic & Arts Tour** covers the other side of the bay: the floating market, colonial facades in every color, and the oldest synagogue in the Americas.
Both are two hours, guided and easy to slot into a festival trip without eating your whole day.
Bring Your Camera
Whatever you do on the island beyond the festival, bring your camera.
