Do I need a license to ride an e-scooter in Curaçao?

No motorcycle license is required. Our electric scooters are easy to ride - if you can ride a bicycle, you can ride our e-scooters. We provide a brief training session before each tour.

Are the tours suitable for cruise ship passengers?

Yes! Our tours are perfect for cruise ship day visitors. We offer 2-3 hour tours that allow you to see Willemstad's highlights and return to your ship on time. We recommend booking in advance, especially on busy cruise ship days.

What is included in the tour price?

All tours include: electric scooter rental, safety helmet, brief training session, and route maps. Guided tours also include a professional local guide for an additional $10.

What areas do the tours cover?

Our tours cover Willemstad's UNESCO World Heritage sites including Punda, Otrobanda, Pietermaai, and Scharloo. Highlights include the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge, Handelskade waterfront, Fort Amsterdam, and colorful street art.

E-WHEELS EXPERIENCE

This document constitutes a legally binding agreement between E Wheels Experience ("the Company") and the undersigned rider or participant ("the Rider"). By booking a rental or tour and agreeing to this document electronically or in writing, the Rider confirms acceptance of all terms below.

PART A – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Commercial terms for rental and tour services

1. Eligibility

The Rider must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and hold a valid driver's license. The Rider confirms they are physically and mentally capable of safely operating an electric scooter.

2. Booking, Payments & No-Shows

All bookings must be paid in advance. Reservations that are paid for and not attended without prior cancellation are considered no-shows. No-shows are non-refundable, regardless of reason. SECURITY DEPOSIT (PRE-AUTHORIZATION): A pre-authorization hold of $300 will be placed on your credit card before the start of your rental. This is not a charge—it simply reserves the funds temporarily as a security measure. The hold will be automatically released once you return the scooter in the same condition it was provided. Please note that depending on your bank, it may take 5-10 business days for the hold to be removed from your statement. This deposit protects both parties and ensures a smooth rental experience for everyone.

3. Cruise Ship & Schedule Disclaimer

E Wheels Experience is not responsible for any Rider missing a cruise ship, tour bus, flight, or other scheduled activity. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, accidents, mechanical issues, or third-party factors. Participation is entirely at the Rider's own time risk.

4. Conditions of Use

Helmet use is mandatory. Only one rider per scooter. No off-road use, stunts, reckless riding, or operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The scooter may not be subleased or transferred.

5. Damage, Loss & Theft

The Rider is fully responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the scooter and accessories during the rental period. In case of theft or total loss, the Rider agrees to pay the full replacement value. DAMAGE REPAIR CHARGES: The following charges apply for damage caused to the scooter during your rental: • Broken Fender: $20 • Broken Mirror: $25 • Punctured Tire: $60 • Broken Brake Lever: $35 • Damaged Lights: $30 • Scratched Body Panel: $40 • Damaged Seat: $50 LOSS OF USE FEE: In addition to repair costs, a daily fee of $60 per day will be charged for each day the scooter cannot be rented due to repairs resulting from damage caused by the Rider. This compensates for lost rental income during the repair period. All damage assessments and charges are at the sole discretion of E Wheel Experience.

6. Battery & Power Use

Scooters are provided with sufficient charge for the agreed rental or tour duration. E Wheels Experience does not provide battery chargers. Riders may not attempt to charge or interfere with the battery system.

7. GPS Tracking

Scooters are equipped with GPS tracking for safety and recovery. Tampering with tracking or electronics is strictly prohibited.

8. Governing Law

This agreement is governed exclusively by the laws of Curaçao. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Willemstad.

PART B – RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Legal waiver and risk acknowledgment

The Rider acknowledges that riding an electric scooter involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, road conditions, weather, and mechanical failure.

1. Assumption of Risk

The Rider voluntarily assumes all risks associated with the use of the scooter, whether known or unknown.

2. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Rider releases and discharges E Wheels Experience, Freedom Productions N.V., its owners, employees, guides, and affiliates from any and all liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation.

3. Indemnification

The Rider agrees to indemnify and hold harmless E Wheels Experience from any claims, damages, legal costs, or liabilities arising from the Rider's conduct.

4. Third-Party Claims

The Rider accepts full responsibility for any injury or damage caused to third parties during the rental or tour.

5. Binding Effect

This waiver is binding upon the Rider and their heirs, executors, and legal representatives.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By checking the agreement box during booking or signing below, the Rider confirms that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to both the Terms & Conditions and the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk.
